Types of Retreats
The Lord has blessed this ministry in many ways and this allows us to offer a wide range of facilities and resources to interested groups. Some of the typical types of retreats we host are:
- Winter retreats.Weekends in the winter that typically start Friday nights and last until Sunday afternoon. Special activities include snow tubing, skating, indoor gym, chapels & special meetings and lots of great food. January thru March are the most popular months and these are usually booked well in advance. We do offer mid-week retreats as well.
- Summer retreats. The summer schedules allow for more variation from a weekend to a full week of camp. Special activities include swimming, boats & canoes, fishing, hikes and outdoor games (especially water games!), Zip-line and Initiatives Course (Low Ropes Course).
- Leadership retreats. Often held during the spring or fall, these retreats are great for Pastors, church leadership, school or college class orientations, Missions training, ladies craft getaways, Father/Son retreats etc. These retreats tend to be smaller held during less hectic times of the year. They offer an opportunity to get away from the phones, schedules & daily routine in order to plan for the future or train for important events. Often these retreats will be filled with much time of prayer...something the beauty of God's creation at camp has a way of strengthening.
The common thread for these retreats is that you, the groups, provide the camp program, ie speakers, schedules, worship, counselors & leaders, etc. The camp provides housing, food, setup, cleaning, kitchen staffing etc. The camp can assist you in preparation for your retreat as well as staffing certain activities such as zip-line, incentives, tubing, setting up A/V equipment and other special activities.
Booking Information
When you contact us about the availability of the camps for a retreat, we will ask you for the following information that will help us get you set up:
- Preferred location: Arrowhead Bible Camp or Rock Mtn. Bible Camp. We have a special page with a detailed description of the differences between the 2 camps. If you don't have a preference, we will help you decide based on availability, size of group, type of retreat etc.
- Size of group. We can serve as few as 10 and as many as 325.
- Type of group. Will this be a group of adults looking to get away for a prayer meeting or a bunch of high school kids ready to run?
- Dates. Usually you may have a particular date in mind, but some alternate dates are helpful in case your 1st choice is already booked.
- Arrival & departure times. General times of arrival & departure will help us get your plan in place.
- Any special needs, arrangements or situations. These may be things such as special housing for speakers, A/V setup, meeting rooms etc.
- Contact information: how we can get in touch with you as we work out the details.
The more of this you can have when you contact us, the better, but we will do our best to help you figure out the ones you may not be decided on!
